Where Are They Now: Mystikal

Mystikal - Ghetto Fabulous Album Cover

The fiery rapper Mystikal made waves with three commercially and critically successful albums on No Limit before parting ways with the label in 2000. The artist born Michael Tyler had the best post tank career for any soldier not named Snoop Dogg. Well, until a certain point. That is, before he got into legal trouble, Mystikal released two albums featuring major radio hits that earned him two Grammy nominations. In 2002, he was featured on the banger “Move Bitch” from Ludacris and Lil Jon’s “I Don’t Give a Fuck.”

The following year, his momentum came to a screeching halt when he was indicted on sexual battery and extortion charges. After serving the full six-year sentence, he would be released in 2010. In attempts to salvage his career, Mystikal appeared on a handful of records and dropped a single under his new label home Cash Money. Despite efforts, no album ever materialized and Mystikal would get locked up again in 2022.

This time, he was arrested for domestic abuse, battery, and first-degree rape. Currently held without bail, he awaits trial, and if convicted, he could face a mandatory life sentence.
